Engineering Foundation Year
Pictures for the People created a compelling video for UCL East to showcase their Engineering Foundation Year programme. The film highlights how the course supports underrepresented students in gaining the skills, confidence and academic grounding needed to progress onto full engineering degrees at UCL. Through student-led storytelling and campus visuals, it presents an honest and inspiring view of alternative pathways into higher education.
Objectives: Showcasing Inclusivity and Academic Support
The aim of the film was to communicate the inclusive nature of the Engineering Foundation Year and the structured academic and personal support available to students throughout the programme. By focusing on authentic student voices, the video demonstrates how UCL East empowers learners from non-traditional and underrepresented backgrounds to build confidence, develop core skills and successfully transition into degree-level engineering study.
