Report + Support Induction Video

Setting the Tone for New Students

Queen Mary University wanted more than a standard welcome video. The aim was to help students feel informed, supported and confident as they begin university life, while clearly explaining the support available for inappropriate social situations.

Communicating Support Clearly

The objective was to provide students with practical guidance on accessing help for bullying, sexism, racism or sexual misconduct. The film needed to feel approachable and human, presenting important information in a way that was relatable and reassuring.

Bringing the Story to Life

We began by exploring the student experience, focusing on situations where support may be needed. Filming included student ambassadors and university staff to capture authentic dialogue and realistic scenarios. Visuals of the campus environment were used to contextualise support services. In editing, we structured the film as a friendly and informative guide, combining clear instructions with approachable, student-focused storytelling.

Emphasising Community and Respect

The film highlights the university’s commitment to a safe, inclusive culture. It communicates that students are part of a community that values respect and wellbeing and that support is always available if it is needed.

The Result: Guidance Students Can Trust

The finished film provides new students with clear, practical advice while reassuring them that they are supported. It balances essential information with warmth and accessibility, making students feel welcome and informed from day one.
