What are Contemporary Ideas?
The Place recently celebrated its 50th anniversary as a leading dance institution in London. To celebrate this anniversary, Pictures for the People was assigned to create a series of animations that explore The Place’s history and complex ideas around dance. One of these animations asks, what are contemporary ideas?
The Place wanted to create an animation that had a modern, Netflix explainer type feel and narrative, whilst also demonstrating and celebrating their archive and rich history.
It was also important to condense fairly complex and open ideas into a concise and easy to understand narrative.
